Litter-Robot 4

Why it is listed

Litter-Robot 4 is the globe Whisker still calls tried-and-true. You give up WasteID and a bit of drawer/weight range versus 5, and you pay $100 less at list. If you want hopper autofill that is actually for sale today, this is the Whisker SKU that has it.

Pros & cons

Pros

• Still on whisker.com at $699: 4 cats, 3–25 lb, 22×27 in, 29.5 in tall, ~8 days between empties (1 cat), waste/litter level sensing, QuietSift, Whisker app, fence + liners + carbon filter in the box.
• LitterHopper autofill is sold for LR4 today; Whisker’s 4 vs 5 article lists hopper on 5 as coming soon.
• Same 90-day trial and SafeCat sensor stack as the newer globes. Whisker publishes a 3 lb automatic-mode floor and a semi-auto unplug method under 3 lb.

Cons

• No WasteID. Weight ceiling 25 lb vs 30 lb on Litter-Robot 5. Comparison chart: carpet tray is an add-on if you want SmartScale accuracy on thick carpet.
• Translucent/white crystal litter can confuse LR4 level sensors — Whisker says not recommended.
• We did not independently verify Whisker’s “95% acclimation” return-reason statistic.
