Why it is listed
La Quinta still publishes a national pet page: two dogs or cats at most hotels, $25 a night capped at $75 if they charge, service animals free. Weight is property-by-property. Read the no-pets list. This is not the old free-for-all La Quinta rumor.

Pros & cons
Pros
- wyndhamhotels.com/laquinta/about-us/pet-friendly 2026-09-02: dogs and cats in designated pet-friendly rooms at most hotel locations. Only domestic pets (cats and dogs); max two per room. Select locations may have a pet weight limit — call at booking. Tell the front desk and leave a contact number. An optional pet fee may be charged at check-in ($25 per night for a max of $75 per room per stay). Authorized service animals are not subject to a pet fee.
- Same page: leash or carrier outside the room; pets not allowed in breakfast, fitness, or pool (service animals excepted); schedule housekeeping while you are out; provide a litter box for cats; cleanup; noise/aggression can get you moved; fee non-refundable if charged; extra cleaning/damage billed. Named list of hotels that do not allow pets (Brooklyn Downtown/East, NYC Central Park, Queens, Santa Cruz, several Mexico/LatAm, etc.).
- wyndhamhotels.com/laquinta/locations: hundreds of hotels across the Americas; most hotels are pet-friendly. Locator on the brand site.
Cons
- Weight is not a national number — ‘select locations may have a pet weight limit.’ Third-party 75 lb claims are not on this official page, so we do not print 75 lb as La Quinta policy.
- Fee is optional as written — some hotels charge, some may not. Confirm View Hotel Policies. Several U.S. city hotels are on the no-pets list.
- Pets out of breakfast/gym/pool. Official locations page says ‘hundreds,’ not a single integer we scored. No app named on the pet page.
