Garmin Alpha LTE

Why it is listed

Alpha LTE is Garmin’s answer to “I want the dog on my phone.” Hardware is $299.99; the plan is not on the SKU page, and the battery is measured in hours. Last on this table on purpose.

Pros & cons

Pros

• garmin.com product page lists Alpha LTE at $299.99 (part family 010-02847). Sold as a sporting-dog LTE tracker you attach to an existing collar.
• Garmin outdoor blog (2025-06-13): track on a compatible phone in the Alpha app; up to 18 hours with dynamic tracking; adjust update rate to extend; LED colors; cellular range is unlimited while both ends have cell service.
• Same blog: can pair with compatible Garmin handhelds for LTE/VHF smart switching (up to 75 hours at a 2-minute rate in that hybrid mode).

Cons

• Eighteen hours is the short end of consumer pet GPS. This is a hunt-day battery, not a Fi-month battery.
• The U.S. product page does not publish the in-app LTE subscription price. We will not invent $49.99 from retailers. Plan = Varies until Garmin lists it on the SKU page.
• No published cat breakaway or pet-weight range on the pages we used. Hunting-collar culture, not indoor-cat hardware.
