Pros & cons

Pros

  • tasteofthewildpetfood.com Canyon River Feline PDP 2026-09-02: formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages. Trout is named as the number one ingredient; smoke-flavored salmon also listed.
  • 3,741 kcal/kg (424 kcal/cup) calculated ME. Adult-cat feeding table in cups/day by current weight (3–20 lb). Available sizes named: 5 lb and 14 lb. Species-specific probiotics on the page.
  • Same feline family includes Rocky Mountain and Lowland Creek — scored separately or skipped as other SKUs. No subscription required.

Cons

  • All life stages is not an adult-only maintenance statement. The brand FAQ says these feline recipes also cover kittens; this is not a dedicated adult 1–6 SKU like Hill’s. 14 lb is not a 15 lb bag.
  • Formulated, not a feeding trial. No maker USD. No numbered transition days in the text we captured. Grain-free is not extra quality points.
  • We are not veterinarians. ALS calcium/energy for kittens is a different nutrition question than everyday adult feeding.
