Pros & cons
Pros
- scenthound.com/services 2026-09-02 names Basic Hygiene (bath with towel-dry, ear cleaning, nail trim, teeth brushing, 6-point wellness check), Blow-Out Package (add blow-dry and brush-out), and Barber Package (add blow-dry, brush-out, sanitary trim, pad trim, and haircut). Add-ons include plaque reduction, conditioning (detangles/demats), shedding, problem-skin, nail grind, functional trims, facial scrub, glands. Members save 25% on additional services.
- overview: 160+ Scenters in the United States; monthly membership with one wellness visit per month; Scenthound app for booking, history, and S.C.E.N.T. Check Scores; first-time visitors can book online or in the app. Blow-dry is an add-on — basic visits are towel-dry. They may pause or refuse service if behavior puts the team or other dogs at risk (services FAQ language on brand pages). All breeds/sizes welcome; haircuts described as wellness-focused, not breed-specific styling aesthetics (overview).
- store-locator lists U.S. states and Scenters. Membership has no long-term contract language on brand FAQs we used (cancel anytime named on FAQ pages indexed from scenthound.com).
Cons
- No national membership USD on scenthound.com/services or overview 2026-09-02. Local Scenter pages advertise intro offers such as $49 — those are not a U.S. from-price. We do not copy them. See scenthound.com.
- No vaccine list on the national services/overview pages. Vaccine points are zero. They do not publish a kennel-dryer ban; they publish towel-dry as default and blow-dry as add-on. That is the dryer policy we scored — not “no cage dryer.”
- Their own overview says they are not a traditional breed-styling salon. If you want an AKC clip, this is the wrong row (see Aussie breed clip or PetSmart haircut). A Scenter is not this technician. Meet the Scent Tech.
