Why it is listed
Use PetSmart when you want a U.S. training page that actually prints $149 six-week classes, a no-choke/no-prong gear list, vaccines, and a 90-day retake. Aggressive dogs are not allowed in group class on the learn-more page. A class is not a diagnosis. Confirm the store. We are not veterinarians.

Pros & cons
Pros
- services.petsmart.com/Training 2026-09-02 is a live U.S. training PDP with a national price table: Puppy/Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced 6-week group classes $149; Fundamental or Intermediate+Advanced packages $249 (stated retail $298); 3-class package $355 (stated retail $447 / save $92); StartSmart™ 1-hour workshop $25; private consult $45; one-time private $89; four 1-hour privates $259; Brain Games $159; Therapy Dog $179; tricks $149. Group classes are one hour, same time each week for six weeks. Book by store zip.
- Accredited Pet Trainers; positive reinforcement named on the Training page and learn-more-pet-training. What to bring: 4–6 ft leather or nylon leash (no retractable or chain); buckle collar, head halter or harness (no choke or prong collars); treats; vaccination records. Vaccines must be given at least 48 hours prior under a licensed veterinarian; written proof at first class; DPP with adenovirus and rabies (age-appropriate). FAQ: typically 4–6 dogs; about page also says group classes 4–10 dogs. Hands-on Assessment and illness pre-screening named.
- learn-more-pet-training: aggressive dogs are not allowed in class; nervous-but-not-aggressive dogs may attend or take a free 15-minute evaluation; trainer may recommend private. Training class policy: retake within 90 days if not satisfied; prorated refunds until the start of a second course in a 6-week class or a 4-pack of privates. Make-up: work with your trainer. Afterpay named. No membership required to book.
Cons
- The U.S. Training PDP we scored does not name iOS and Android or a Zoom product (a PetSmart.ca learning-center article names virtual 30-minute sessions — that is not this U.S. page). Ease app/online points are zero. Classes may be limited and in select stores.
- “100% Satisfied – If you’re not, we’ll work to make it right!” is marketing next to a documented 90-day retake and prorated refund — not a medical or behavior-outcome guarantee. We do not invent CPDT or other letters; the page says Accredited Pet Trainers.
- A group class is not a diagnosis. Bite history and aggression are out of group class on PetSmart’s own learn-more page. Pain and sudden behavior change belong with a veterinarian. Confirm the local store’s schedule and vaccine list.
