Hill's Science Diet Adult 7+ Chicken Recipe Cat Food

Why it is listed

Buy this when you want a U.S. cat 7+ bag whose maker page prints an AAFCO feeding-trial sentence for adult maintenance, plus a listed 4 lb price. That is not a senior AAFCO profile. Not a kidney diet. Not a dog food. Not a vet visit.

Pros & cons

Pros

• hillspet.com Adult 7+ Chicken Recipe cat PDP 2026-09-02: recommended for adult cats 7+ years of age. Not recommended for kittens or pregnant or nursing cats. Animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures substantiate that Hill's Science Diet Adult 7+ Chicken Recipe Cat Food provides complete and balanced nutrition for maintenance of adult cats. That is adult maintenance — AAFCO has no senior profile.
• 490 kcal/cup (3926 kcal/kg). Mature-adult cup/gram table. Sizes named: 4 lb, 7 lb, 16 lb. 7-day transition. Adjust feeding to maintain optimal weight. Official bag photo from the Hill’s U.S. shop CDN (shop.hillspet.com SKU 7104).
• shop.hillspet.com SKU 7104 2026-09-02: one-time $22.99 for the 4 lb bag; autoship optional, not required. This row is cats. It is not the Adult 7+ dog bag and not Adult 11+ cat.

Cons

• PDP copy about heart, kidneys, and bladder ‘supported by antioxidants and balanced minerals’ is support language on an OTC complete diet. It is not Hill’s Prescription Diet k/d. We are not veterinarians.
• ‘U.S. Veterinarians’ #1 Recommended Brand’ on the PDP is marketing. We did not score it.
• Dry kibble is not a water bowl. Complete and balanced is a labeled claim, not a homemade recipe. Transition over 7 days as the PDP says.
