Smalls Freeze-Dried Puffy Bird 8 oz

Why it is listed

Buy this when you want Smalls without a freezer. $24 is the official 8 oz price. Complete-and-balanced is on the company blog, not as an AAFCO sentence on the bag page. Not a wet meal.

Pros & cons

Pros

• smalls.com/smallsmart/products/freeze-dried-puffy-bird-8oz 2026-09-02: Freeze-dried Puffy Bird 8 oz listed $24.00; 14 oz sibling $40.00; 3 oz $9.00. PDP ingredients: Chicken (with ground bone), chicken liver, dried yeast, salt, cranberries, blueberries, … taurine, and named vitamins/minerals. Guaranteed analysis on the same payload: crude protein (min) 45%, crude fat (min) 28%, crude fiber (max) 2%, moisture (max) 8%. Other Bird turkey is a separate PDP.
• smalls.com/blog/post/smalls-freeze-dried-puffs: complete and balanced for all life stages; serve as a meal, treat, or topper; designed so not every cat parent needs freezer space. PDP feeding copy: may be rehydrated with Smalls broth or warm water — add ½ cup liquid per cup of food, wait 1 minute, mix and serve. help.smalls.com shelf-life: store in the pantry until the best-by date; reseal after opening; use within 2 months opened; discard rehydrated leftovers after 2 hours.
• Add to cart one-time on Smalls Mart (not quiz-only). Same continental U.S. shipping help article as fresh. Skip/reschedule still exists for subscribers. Not an ER diet.

Cons

• The 8 oz PDP we captured does not print the word AAFCO. Complete-and-balanced-for-all-life-stages lives on the official blog. We did not invent a nutrient-profile sentence. 3 oz is labeled treat-sized on its own PDP — do not treat $9 as a full meal plan.
• Freeze-dried is not a pouched wet meal. Follow the company’s cup guide on help.smalls.com; we did not invent kcal/cup because the 8 oz PDP did not print kcal.
• Not cheaper than canned by default. Slow transition. We are not veterinarians.
